Early 60’s Gretsch 4157 ‘Name Band’ snare drum in Back Pearl wrap. Stripped cleaned, and fitted with new Remo Coated Ambassador, Remo snare side and PureSound wires.
Serial: 26672
All original except for two nuts I had to replace when the original Gretsch parts broke when stripping the drum (see photo)
6-ply shell, die cast hoops, ‘micro-sensitive’ strainer, internal muffler.
Chrome has plenty of pitting on the lugs and hoops, strainer has almost no pitting.
Silver sealer has either worn off, or has been lightly sanded in the past.
Minimal lift on the wrap seam.
Wrap has cleaned up really well, and looks beautiful.
Beautiful sounding, and well regarded vintage drum.
